According to the report from South China Early Report, global semiconductor exposure machine manufacturer ASML (ASML) launched an online competition in China with the goal of promoting exposure technical knowledge and discovering outstanding engineers. In addition, we also hope to use this competition to strengthen its influence in the Chinese market to meet the challenges of Chinese local manufacturers in the development of related exposure technologies and equipment.

reported that the purpose of the competition launched by ASML is to deepen the public's understanding of the working principles of exposure technology, especially the technology of creating circuit patterns on silicon wafers to meet the development of China's semiconductor market. In addition, the competition will also show ASML's intention to develop the Chinese market despite facing restrictions from the United States and its allies.

This event invites professionals from semiconductor industry and enthusiasts with scientific backgrounds to participate, hoping to provide Chinese participants with opportunities to explore and expose technology in depth and find new talents to work in China for ASML. According to ASML's statement, the 16 top scorers will have the opportunity to receive ASML's job test opportunities, and another 75 participants will be included in the list of candidates that may be considered in the future. The competition will be held from the end of June to the beginning of July, and the competition will have 20 questions in total.

According to ASML's annual disclosure data, China surpassed Taiwan to become its largest regional market in 2024, accounting for 36.1% of its total revenue. To this end, ASML has expanded its business in China and established a new repair center with a larger scale in Beijing to replace the old repair center and further better serve its ever-expanding customer base in China. The center requires employees, so this competition may be one of ASML's measures to recruit employees for the new maintenance center.

However, the ASML Management Layout predicts that the amount of capital collection in the Chinese market will decline in 2025 due to the execution of early pressure orders and the possible implementation of more stringent export restrictions on equipment to China.

In order to meet the restrictions of the United States and its allies, Chinese enterprises, including China and universities, have increased their efforts in research on domestic exposure systems. Recently, the Changchun Institute of Precision Machinery and Physics, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, released a recruitment start-up report, which will provide unlimited salary to doctoral researchers who are willing to participate in the development of the domestic exposure system.
