Newcastle has cancelled more than 100 season tickets, and the club claims that these season tickets have been held by a few travel organizers for the past decade and apologized to fans for the omission.

Previously, the club decided to cancel 45 tickets in the Champions League home game against Barcelona this Thursday, which was bought by a private school in Dundee, Scotland 190 miles away. Earlier this month, more than 110,000 Newcastle fans flocked to the online queue system to sell scarce tickets to their members against Barcelona.

When news of Dundee High School's acquisition of a large number of tickets came out, it sparked a strong response. Newcastle United Fan Trust (NUST) said they have been flooded with information from angry fans due to the incident.

But now the club said it had cancelled 103 season tickets this week due to breach of terms and conditions. They claimed that this was not because individual fans resell tickets, but season tickets sold in bulk to a few travel organizers for school groups in the 2015-16 season. Newcastle insisted that it quickly terminated all third-party ticketing provider agreements after the acquisition was completed in October 2021 and claimed that it had no formal contract with the travel group. Instead, they said travel organizers continued to resell season tickets at higher package prices until recently, and stressed that the club had taken action immediately after realizing the problem. The club also apologized to fans for this omission and emphasized that they hoped to be completely transparent. They insisted that the premium portion of these season tickets did not flow into the club and that relevant seats have returned to the official draw system for fans to purchase subsequent games. When tickets to the school were cancelled Thursday (with multiple seats adjacent), Newcastle initially claimed that the tickets were resold by fans through an unauthorized website and said that the fans involved had been disqualified from the season tickets. A club spokesperson said on the same day: "Newcastle United has canceled some tickets for the Champions League against Barcelona due to violation of the season ticket terms and conditions. The relevant season tickets will be invalidated on the day and will not be refunded. These tickets will be opened to Newcastle fans through the club's existing ticket sales process. Fans who are suspected of unauthorized resale will be called on fans to send relevant information to the club's mailbox."

On Thursday, NUST issued a statement on the cancellation incident, expressing his gratitude for Newcastle to release the seats to his fans.
