Ferguson will turn 84 in December, and Ferguson was interviewed by the BBC. Ferguson is now an ambassador to the "Playlist for Life" charity.

Ferguson said: "It really touched me, so I was involved more deeply. Music is very important to people with dementia and we have to continue to support it. You don't need to be a great singer, just know the lyrics. It's really wonderful.

I had this myself, and my brother has Alzheimer's, which is not easy. I have to keep in touch with him often. He can recognize me, but his memory is not very good. But his condition is not too bad, and it's very encouraging."

When asked whether Alzheimer's is a question he often thinks about, Ferguson gave a positive answer. "Yes, because I'm his brother, I'm only one year older than him, and I only have one brother, so he's important to me. This question has been haunting me. I'll think, 'I don't know how he's doing now,' or 'Is I supposed to call him.' I try to do this every day. I always tell him to 'write things down.' I think he's trying to do it, too, but he often forgets.

When you get to my age, you do worry about whether your memory will decline. I was 84 in December and sometimes I forget things. Maybe 20 years ago, 30 years ago, no one had a perfect memory. But in football, when I was a coach, memory was always important. Now I often do crosswords, sing and read.

I like to study history, especially the war in the United States. I have been to some war sites in the United States and enjoyed that experience very much. "

Ferguson's wife Cathy passed away in 2023, and the two have been married for nearly 58 years. "After my wife passed away, I stayed at home often, I moved to the countryside and lived in the house next to my son, but staying at home was not enough to watch TV, so I decided to go out for a trip. I went to Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, and Bahrain. Keep myself busy. Participating in some activities in the dementia group helped me, which is something I like.

Ferguson also talked about attending the press conference: "I always regarded the press conference as a challenge because every word you say at the press conference will be with you for the rest of your life. If your game is not good, someone will ask: Why is this happening? ”
