At about 7:30 on October 12, the Dalian Fire Special Service No. 1 Squadron received an alarm saying that in an abandoned building near the intersection of Changjiang Road and Jiqing Street, an old lady fell into a basement more than 4 meters deep and was injured and unable to move. She was in urgent need of rescue. The squadron immediately organized rescue personnel to rush to the scene. The building where the incident occurred was in dilapidated condition and there were no lighting facilities inside. Since many facilities in the building had been demolished, there were no railings or any other protective measures around the basement. "It's very dark inside, and you might fall into the basement if you're not careful." The firefighter said that the bottom of the basement was about 4 meters above the ground. The basement was full of garbage and extremely dirty. A 60-year-old woman was sitting underneath. She moaned in pain from time to time because her body was injured by the fall.

After on-site investigation, the rescuers found a small staircase, then went down to the bottom of the basement, carefully lifted the woman onto a mobile stretcher, fixed it, and finally successfully rescued the trapped person and handed it over to 120 emergency personnel.

It is understood that this woman often feeds stray cats and dogs nearby. At the time of the incident, because there were no lighting facilities in the abandoned building, when the woman went to look for cats and dogs in the building, she could not see clearly what was going on, and she accidentally fell into the basement. Currently, the old man is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
