The Athletic reported that Arsenal executive vice chairman Tim Lewis will leave office, marking a major reorganization of the club's board of directors.

62-year-old corporate lawyer Tim Lewis has advised Arsenal ownership group Kroenke Sports Entertainment (KSE) since 2007, joined the Premier League club's board of directors in September 2020 and was promoted in March 2023.

Lewis has been working closely with 78-year-old Arsenal boss Stan Kroenke, and his sudden departure means a major change in the club's leadership structure. Josh Kroenke, 45, has played an increasingly important role in the club in recent years, and this trend will continue, while General Manager Richard Garrick will be promoted to CEO. The board of directors will be further expanded, and in addition to adding two KSE representatives to strengthen family ties with the club, long-term consultant Ben Winston will also join the board.

Between 2007 and 2018, Lewis provided legal advice to Stan Kroenke and KSE on the acquisition of Arsenal. He was deeply involved in the entire process of Kroenke's acquisition of 9.9% of the initial shares from ITV plc in 2007, becoming a majority shareholder in 2011, and fully controlling the club in 2018.

As a trusted consultant of the Kroenke family, his responsibilities have long exceeded the scope of legal affairs and club acquisitions. After assisting the club through the COVID-19 crisis, Lewis has become increasingly active at the Premier League level and has led several clubs to lobby against acquisitions closely related to state capital.

Lewis has established a strong relationship with Arteta and plays a key role in the 2022 three-year negotiations for the head coach to renew his contract. A staunch advocate of fiscal equity policy, he played a major role in the summer transfer window, including leveraging his close ties with Crystal Palace president Steve Parrish to push the club to sign Eze for £60 million in August.

Garrick joined Arsenal from the Premier League in 2021 and previously served as football director for three years. After he was promoted from the position of director of football operations after he left office at the end of the 2023-24 season, Vincart Sam has now joined Tottenham.

Winston, the son of famous professor Robert Winston, won 13 Emmy Awards in the film industry. He is the co-founder of Fulwell 73 Production Company and TV host James Corden is also a partner of the company.
