Not long ago, the Hangzhou Municipal Government invested 300,000 yuan to officially launch the stray cat community sterilization project, and selected five animal hospitals as designated hospitals for sterilization surgery in the main urban area.

At 9 pm on September 30, he was successfully trapped by Miss Qiu in Zuoan Garden Community. He underwent sterilization on October 1 and is expected to be discharged from the hospital on October 10.

On the evening of September 30, Miss Qiu and her friends received a trap cage from the pet hospital and placed it next to the bushes where stray cats often appear. Previously, they specially stopped feeding for 48 hours (Miss Qiu said that the hunger the cat, the easier it is to trap it, but the plan to stop eating should not exceed 3 days. Xiaomei's belly was shrunk when she was caught, and she must have been very hungry at that time).

Step 2: Prepare very attractive food.

This time, Miss Qiu used chopped chicken shells bought from the vegetable market as bait and scattered them near the trapping cage. When Xiaomei smelled the fragrance, she first took a bite of the chicken shell from a distance and slowly approached the trapping cage bit by bit. The largest chicken shell was placed in the cage. Xiaomei hesitated for a while, and finally couldn't resist the temptation of delicious food, so she entered the trap cage.

Step 3: Cover the mystery of the pedal with newspaper.

Once the cat steps on the pedal (the trapping cage mechanism), it will be locked in the trapping cage. But many smart cats will find the mystery of the pedal and not get close to it. How to successfully trap a stray cat?

Miss Qiu said that in the past, she often went to catch stray cats with friends from Hangzhou Animal Protection Organization and sent them to the hospital for sterilization at their own expense. After successfully trapping, they need to pay attention to the following matters:

Prepare containers for canned foods and other foods.

Prepare a pair of thick gloves. White yarn gloves are useless, and it is best to be leather gloves to prevent being scratched by cats.

Stray cats are very vigilant, try to avoid connecting with the cat's sight to avoid making the cat more vigilant.

When stray cats first enter the cage, they must restrain themselves no matter how excited they are. To ensure that the environment is quiet. If someone walks around or makes other noises, the cat will be frightened and will not enter the cage for a long time, and will even escape if it goes in.

Cats with strong personalities will struggle in the trapping cage and often break the mouth, nose, corners of their eyes, etc., so they must transfer the cat to a cloth bag or air box as soon as possible and send it to the pet hospital as soon as possible. Once the automatic door of the professional trap cage falls, it is generally relatively strong. However, it cannot be ruled out that some cats with great strength can still be pushed open. Therefore, it is best to transfer the cat to a cloth bag or an ordinary cage as soon as possible after catching it.
