Dogs’ ears must be very careful!
The environmental hygiene of dogs' ear canals is also a relatively easy problem to be ignored by owners. Although some owners will also clear their ear canals for their dogs on time, they are worried about stabbing their ears. The owners generally only clear the outer field of the dog's ears, and ignore the inside. Such cleaning will not have much practical effect, so everyone must grasp the appropriate cleaning method.
1. Why check the ear canal of a dog? In daily health care, the ear canal is one of the places where problems are prone to occur. Dogs with physical and mental health can reduce the risk of ear canal diseases based on basic examinations. And if possible, the owner should conduct ear examinations for the pets on time to allow them to integrate into the entire process of this examination. In this way, if the ear canal problem is indeed discovered in the future, and the doctor will take care of the dogs, it will not make the dogs afraid or unsuitable.
2. How to check the ear canal for dogs
1. Check the earlobe of the dog
owners can use their arms and fingers to experience the entire outer earlobe of the dog and see if the earlobe skin is detailed. Some animals have ear-standing, while the responsibility is to hang their ears, and the overall condition of the ears is determined based on the species of the dog. Ensure that the surface of the ears is smooth, without damage, no lumps, no heat, cooler when touched, and no significant pain.
2. Inspection of the second and peripheral mechanisms
After checking the outer tartar, you will need to check the ear canal and surrounding areas. For all normal ear canals, the visual mucosa should be light pink, there is no or only a small amount of fruit wax in the ear canal, the ear canal is neat and has no odor (some dogs may smell it slightly, but it will not choke), and the ear canal is dry and not wet and cold. If the dog is neat and odorless, most of it is healthier.
3. The key to ear examination
Are there significant pain in the ears; does the ears have a pungent smell; does the ears itch, does the dog always scratch their ears; does the skin around the ear canal have swollen and inflammation; does there be a lot of ear wax or earwax; If you see objects (black spots) moving in the ear canal, there may be ear mites (ear mites usually exist in young animals' ear canals, causing the animals to show discomfort); each examination is compared with the past, see if there are any new lumps or bumps.
Some owners will help their dog bathe themselves, but when taking a bath, they will accidentally get the water into the dog's ears, and after the end, they will not immediately remove it. Such a wet and cold natural environment can easily cause ear mites to grow in dogs' ear canals. When the owner is picking his ears, he is afraid of deep-seated levels, so the inside will be inflammation, the dog's ears will smell bad, and the dog will often scratch its ears when it feels itchy.
Therefore, you must pay attention to completely cleaning the ear canal. You don’t have to worry about the problem of causing the dog’s ear canal. Because the dog’s ear canal structure is relatively unique, even if you understand, you will not touch the eardrum of the dog. Therefore, you only need one person to protect the dog and you can clear the ear canal with peace of mind.
